For The Love of Books

At what point do you say “I have too many books”? Is it when you can fill up a library or is it when your book case starts to overflow? I don’t know what that point is for you but I think I’ve finally reached mine. Most of my books I use for research so I don’t want to throw them away. I just don’t want them all out in the open and all up in my face. And if they are going to be all up in my face, they need to look a lot better than what’s going on behind me right now. But not everyone can afford stylist built-ins as seen in these glossy pictures. The meager wall I’ve carved out for an office in my apartment could sure use some built-ins, but as we all know built-ins and apartment don’t go together. I tried the Ikea Billy solution for a few years but even that turned out disastrous due to my Husband’s book Phobia {don’t even get me started on that} and a number of other reasons. I’m a girl on a budget, so Ikea is usually my best bet. 

I’m thinking about trying this HEMNES Storage combination. If Billy didn’t work, why try this you ask. Well, for starters it has doors. Doors for the most part makes things feel locked away and put in place {mind trick for the hubby}. Second, it has legs. Have you ever noticed how easily those Billy bookcases tipped when on carpet? I could never get them to line up straight. Plus this unit has draws. You can never go wrong with draws. And when you really think about it, $900 isn’t too much to pay for storage and to save your Husband’s sanity. So what do you think? HEMNES or keep looking?....Happy Decorating Everyone!
